John Hall set aside his career as singer, songwriter and guitarist to run for United States Congress in New York's 19th District.  

The damage being done to our country by Republican control of all three branches of government is so serious, the lack of checks and balances so obvious, that we need to reclaim control this year.

John has enough of illegal wiretapping, data-mining, and surveillance of law-abiding Americans. He has enough of pre-emptive wars that lead to long, bloody occupations, oil prices that are at record highs while oil companies reap new subsidies and record profits. He has enough lying about intelligence, suppression of science, manipulation of the media. Every day brings new revelations of the corruption and destruction of our government by the Bush administration, and further steps toward Karl Rove's stated goal of a "permanent Republican majority."
